- The 2008 MTC World Cup is underway! Today were the first matches of the preliminary round. The IT Service Desk comes into the tournament as the defending champions and hopes to leave this year's tournament in a fashion similar to that of last year's. There are 8 teams competing to enter the winner take all 2 round tournament for total MTC glory. In Group 1 are the Cafeteria, the IT Service Desk, Spanish Training, and Development. Group 2 consists of the SMTC, Russian Training, the TEC, and the Referal Center.- After today's matches the IT Service Desk is in good standing, having won 1 of 2 games and with a win in next week's matches will clinch a spot in the semi-final round. A close but heartbreaking 4-5 loss against the Cafeteria workers in their first match left the IT Service Desk exhausted after having played most of the first half a man short., but the arrival of reinforcements and a 45 minute recess between matches sparked their morale and they were able to fight off the attack of Spanish Training, winning the second match 6-4.
