I do love a Poodle

Before we sat down to dinner on Thanksgiving afternoon, Archie's dad, Kim, was flipping through the channels and came across the National Dog Show--Best in Show. (The for reals one as opposed to a dearly beloved movie.) Not only was there the most beautifully decked out giant poodle, but a vast variety of other equally entertaining dogs. I was truly thankful.

These pooches were unfortunately not part of Best in Show; however, since Archie found these awesome pictures online, I have a feeling there are a few other family members who might be as delighted as I am. It makes me think of when I pinned down Sally's little Pog in the bathtub and dyed him pink with red food coloring. Best thing that ever happened to the little yapper--sorry Sally.

Shred ready take two

Lake Powell trip gone amuck. At least I can clear the wake now.

Shred Ready!!

Jaron and I got to hang out a bit with Amber and Danny while in Utah a week ago, and it was great fun to take pride in my little sister-in-law's shredding abilities out on Utah Lake.
Danny ripping it up as well. . .
Landing back flips on the wake board has become as easy as jumping the wake for some rediculous people, but we won't name names.
Pretty much this is the cutest picture of Amber I've ever seen. Amber your gorgeous!
Peace from your humble picture taker. . . and of coarse the squat body.

Ugliest Dog 2008

Some of you might remember when "Archie" won the ugliest dog contest last year. (See the 2nd post to this blog titled "So Pretty.") Just thought you would all like to know that Gus is the new winner.

Gus has only 3 legs and 1 eye and skin cancer.

A worthy opponent

Holy crap, how did this thing not win?

Forgotten Fridays

Man, I hadn't checked the Hungry Blog in a while...who knew so many great recipes have been going up. What's with all the flaxseed? Should I be eating flaxseed? I need a personal trainer, or whole team...Ambs? Che? Jess? Madre? Will you guys please put together a health regiment including food and exercise for me. Thanks.

Anyways, I was wondering when I might expect to see some archived photos surfacing? Should we make Fridays officially "Forgotten Fridays"? The pictures in my possession only go back to 2006, but don't you worry, I will try to do my part as well. Mom, I fear the majority of this special task lies in your hands. Do you accept your mission?

OK, that is all. Good night one and all.

MTC Soccer World Cup Update

Sadly, the IT Service Desk was defeated last week in its match against Development making way for the Cafeteria and Spanish Training teams to advance to the semi-final. However ironic it may seem, Spanish Training, the team that we beat in the first round, went on to win the Cup.

MTC Soccer World Cup

- The 2008 MTC World Cup is underway! Today were the first matches of the preliminary round. The IT Service Desk comes into the tournament as the defending champions and hopes to leave this year's tournament in a fashion similar to that of last year's. There are 8 teams competing to enter the winner take all 2 round tournament for total MTC glory. In Group 1 are the Cafeteria, the IT Service Desk, Spanish Training, and Development. Group 2 consists of the SMTC, Russian Training, the TEC, and the Referal Center.
- After today's matches the IT Service Desk is in good standing, having won 1 of 2 games and with a win in next week's matches will clinch a spot in the semi-final round. A close but heartbreaking 4-5 loss against the Cafeteria workers in their first match left the IT Service Desk exhausted after having played most of the first half a man short., but the arrival of reinforcements and a 45 minute recess between matches sparked their morale and they were able to fight off the attack of Spanish Training, winning the second match 6-4.

NOTICE!!!

Notice that the grip tape on the skateboard spells out Led Zeppelin! Somebody spent alot of time cutting out all those little letters. It's one of my favorite features of that board.

Liv's New Shoes

The other day I went to Nortsrum Rack to find me some new shoes, instead I found some new shoes for Liv. I couldn't resist. Her own first pair of vans. She just looks so cute in them. And she knows they are cool, because she always wants to where them, even when she's only in a diaper. Furthermore, she's now trying to stake a claim on Jaron's new skateboard. As far as she's concerned she's the rightful owner.

Bryce and Derek dig out so they can go to school

Here are the pics of our snow storm on Mar 4th. Bryce was the first out to clean off the truck. Seminary was cancelled, school was not. Doesn't he look bright eyed and bushy tailed for 7 a.m?

Bryce hard at work while Derek is getting ready for school.

Ah. There they both are. Good looking, clean cut, American boys. Can it be that Bryce is almost as tall as D? You got to love them.

Lake Tarawera

Archie, being of the male species, naturally hates to have his picture taken. I, as a female, naturally love to torture him. On another note, the mountains in the background were volcanoes that literally blew their own tops off in 1886 and killed 153 people. There's a mini Pompeii, a buried Maori village, close by. We didn't go because we heard it was over-rated for the price.

Quilt Question

Mom, Jess, Che, or Ambs: Do any of you have any idea how to make this kind of quilt? A girl, that was in the ward we went to in Brooklyn, made this quilt and she says she did it all on her sewing machine. I am gathering up projects to do when I get back (I miss projects) but I can't for the life imagine how all the material fits between the needle and the arm of the sewing machine. It looks like a simple enough quilt since there aren't a million pieces, but how hard would it really be? Anyone, anyone? Chelice, do you have any projects up your sleeve or what?

Derek is the man of the hour

Derek just got his ACT scores on the internet. He made a 31. 33 in English, 31 in math and in reading and 28 in science. He will take it a couple of more times. Not bad--we are actually very proud of him. Good work, Derek!!!
